LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Community members gathered in Lansing on Saturday to celebrate African American culture and health with the 2nd annual Juneteenth health fair.

The goal of the health fair is to increase the visibility of health and wellness resources within our community, provide a variety of health screenings and educational information.

Angela Mathews with the Lansing Juneteenth Committee, spoke on combining Juneteenth Celebrations with important health education.

“So we want to educate our community with regards to better healthy choices, better healthy living, and lifestyles,” said Mathews. “But it’s not only for us, but for everybody.”

The celebration attracted more than 7,000 visitors over its four-day stretch.
