LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A multi-million dollar sports facility that broke ground in 2022 is still not open to the public, but City of Laredo officials say the project is nearing completion.
The City of Laredo is hosting a Media Day on Thursday, July 24, for the Buena Vista Sports Complex to provide the latest updates on the project. KGNS crew members will be attending and touring the site, located off Cuatro Vientos and Lomas Del Sur.
The roughly $45 million facility is expected to include 10 artificial turf baseball and softball fields, two multi-purpose fields, and other amenities.
Originally scheduled to open in July, City Manager Joe Neeb now says the complex is on track for an October opening.
