Eagles Pair Ranks At Underrated As Training Camp Looms

9 hours ago 2

The Philadelphia Eagles are just two weeks away from kicking off training camp ahead of the 2025 season. As with any team coming off a Super Bowl win, part of the deal here, as they they know, is that the pressure to repeat only increases.

The Eagles are well-acquainted with that reality. They have one of the most talented rosters in the game, and that will create a large target on their backs for 2025.

And individually?

Plenty of Philly's starters will also be under the microscope this season. And heading into training camp, two of those players who we could rank as "underrated'' could be the difference between the Eagles repeating as Super Bowl champs or falling short of that goal.

Here, a look at that pairing ...

Tyler Steen

Steen has yet to earn the starting guard role in his early career. Philadelphia will give him every chance to win the job, but if he cannot do so this year, there's a good chance he will never do so.

When he's been forced onto the field, Steen has been solid enough. His production will need to see an even larger increase if he is to become a long-term answer at the guard position this year. ... and we bet he is up to the job.

Jordan Davis

Steen is not a big name. Davis, relatively speaking, is.

The former first-round tackle out of Georgia seemed to turn a corner during the later weeks of the 2024 season. Davis must show he can grow from a one-dimensional defensive tackle to an every-down player.

If he can do so, the Eagles will be very good on the defensive side of the ball for another year. ... and Davis will become an even bigger name as he might blossom from "underrated'' to "rated highly.
