OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- The Douglas County Health Department launched a new resource hub for people in need of mental health services.

The website, CredibleMind, features over 100 different topics relating to mental health, according to Division Chief Leah Casanave.

“We found that mental health was one of those areas that the community really needed to see more in,” Casanave said. “Even if you may not feel quite comfortable enough going to see a mental health specialist, there are all sorts of things on here that you can just do your basic research.”

Casanave says it’s completely confidential and free to use.

“Nowadays people want stuff that’s on the go. It’s easy and it’s just a quick glimpse of getting basic information,” Casanave said. “Then, once you kind of determine through your assessments what items may help you be your best self, they lead you to resources that are available.”

Specific local resources are featured on the website as well.

“There’s even food banks that are on there. We’ve got housing that’s on there,” Casanave said. “So, it’s all sorts of items . Anything that can potentially contribute to your mental wellbeing we’ve placed in there so it’s a one-stop shop.

The website gives users an option to log-in and save all of their information to access at a later time or date.
