So you lost your job to AI, now what?

It's becoming a greater concern with the explosion of artificial intelligence in Silicon Valley. Will the tech eventually take our jobs?

A prominent tech titan is providing new reason for worry. Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce says that between 30 to 50 percent of his company's workload is now being handled by AI

Benioff also says he's been able to cut about 1,000 jobs because of it.

But there's also a tradeoff. He says he's also hired more people to sell and maintain the company's AI products.

Salesforce isn't an outlier. Other tech companies like Amazon and Crowdside say they're also using AI to reduce roles.

We're also getting a similar story from a Bay Area tech executive who says he lost his job to AI and then had to pivot to get rehired. Mark Quinn works for Pearl, an AI search platform for professional services based in San Francisco. Quinn spoke with NBC Bay Area’s Raj Mathai about how he rebounded into the industry that took into his job. Watch the full conversation in the video player above.
