That's part of the $21.5 million total purse, to be distributed among the 66 golfers remaining in the field.

This year's total purse is the same as last year, though it still dwarfs what Jack Nicklaus took home way back in 1962 when he claimed his first tournament and major victory at Oakmont — $17,500 out of a total purse of $73,800.
