Apple didn't announce any new devices at WWDC 2025, but code within iOS 26 suggests the company may be working on a gadget or two.
As spotted by MacRumors contributor Steve Moser, the iOS 26 code references AirPods Pro 3 alongside existing models. The AirPods Pro lineup hasn't received a new model since 2023, and there have been rumors about a third-generation coming this fall.
Moser said in an X post, "AirPods Pro 3 must be coming soon," citing the fact they're mentioned directly in iOS 26 Beta 1 as his evidence. "Unfortunately, I couldn't find any other references or hints as to what new features they might have," he added.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. It's not the first time Apple has inadvertently hinted at a new AirPods Pro model. Last month, a software release replaced the mention of "AirPods Pro 2nd generation" with "AirPods Pro or later," 9to5Mac notes.
If past trends are any indication, Apple might announce the new headphones at its annual fall event alongside the iPhone 17 series. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman had earlier tipped a redesign for the AirPods Pro 3 case and earbuds.
iOS 26 code also hints at an AirTag upgrade, according to Macworld. The existing and lone AirTag model was launched in 2021, and it is unusual of Apple not to release an update for so long.

The code doesn't specifically mention AirTag 2 but drops subtle hints about a new model, Macworld says. The company is trying to improve the Bluetooth connectivity between Apple devices and the tracker. It is also working on new battery-related features that are not available on the first-get AirTag, meaning it could be reserved for a newer model.
Again, if the rumor holds true, we could see an announcement at Apple's fall event. In the meantime, check out our iOS 26 coverage to find out everything Apple just announced for the iPhone software.
